Birth Control- Tapestry Health can help you choose from a wide variety of birth control methods including: the pill, the patch, depo provera, nuva ring, IUD, and other methods.
Emergency Contraception-EC is now available over-the-counter for women and men age 18 and older. If you are 18 or older, you can purchase EC at any Tapestry Health site at a reduced cost and without a patient visit. All that is needed is a valid photo ID. For women under age 18, EC remains available at all sites at a reduced cost on a walk-in basis, but requires a brief patient visit.
Hampden County HIV/AIDS Partnership- The Hampden County HIV/AIDS Partnership will increase the number of Hampden County community based, minority-serving organizations with the internal administrative capacity and program skills to provide appropriate and effective HIV/AIDS support services. The outlined objectives of Hampden County HIV/AIDS Partnership seek to develop effective and durable service delivery capacity for HIV prevention and treatment among 12 organizations who work closely with the local Latino and African-American populations affected by HIV/AIDS. Further objectives will be developed upon completion of the needs assessment to determine the priorities of the member agencies. Tapestry has identified a dozen local community based, minority-serving organizations that have a documented need for and/or gaps in their capacity to provide HIV/AIDS-related prevention and care services. The Hampden County HIV/AIDS Partnership will provide technical assistance and capacity building services to those organizations based on their identified needs. Formal MOUs will be developed around each partner’s roles and responsibilities as well as the expectations for post training follow-up, assessment and utilization of newly acquired skills.
Health Services- Services range from gynecological care, HIV counseling and testing, nutritional counseling for new mothers and their babies through our WIC programs, breast health, pregnancy testing and pap smears.
HIV/AIDS- Tapestry Health provides a wide variety of HIV/AIDS services including: testing, counseling and referrals at many of our sites throughout Western Massachusetts.
Infections- Anyone who has ever had sex is at risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection (STI). STIs are caused by viruses or bacteria, which can be passed along in bodily fluids exchanged during sex, or, in some instances, through skin-to-skin contact during sex.
Insurance Enrollment- Tapestry Health is pleased to announce that services will now be provided to help those who are uninsured and eligible register for the Commonwealth Care Health Insurance Program (Commonwealth Care). Commonwealth Care connects eligible Massachusetts residents with approved health plans and helps residents pay for them. With Commonwealth Care, you chose a health plan and you chose your own doctor. The benefits of Commonwealth Care include regular check-ups, treatment when you are sick or injured, prescriptions at your local pharmacy, vision care, mental health or substance abuse treatment, and, for some members, dental care.
La Voz- La Voz (The Voice) is an HIV/AIDS prevention/education, and substance abuse treatment program serving Puerto Ricans and other Latinos in the downtown and South End neighborhoods of Springfield.
LGBT- Tapestry Health is dedicated to narrowing the gap in the quality and affordability of health care services geared toward the LGBT community and ensuring that all individuals, no matter what their sexual orientation or gender identity, have access to compassionate, competent health care.
Mobile Health Initiative (MHI)- Tapestry Health’s Mobile Health Initiative program aims to provide free HIV testing and counseling on Tapestry Health’s mobile van. Tapestry Health is committed to providing access to HIV testing for all those who want it; the Mobile Health Initiative makes this possible with the use of a large Winnebago with private counseling rooms. Tapestry is able to take the Winnebago to streets and neighborhoods in Springfield and Holyoke where injection drug use and HIV rates are high among the population in order to provide HIV testing. The Mobile Health Initiative is a vital part of Tapestry’s mission to provide affordable and accessible health care because it allows us to provide HIV testing and outreach to the populations most at risk of becoming infected with HIV. The Winnebago permits Tapestry to provide a portable clinic for all those who cannot make it to our sites and offices otherwise, creating awareness, accessibility, and education for targeted populations.
Men’s Health Project- The Men’s Health Project (MHP) is a prevention and education program dedicated to the reproductive and sexual health of men in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. MHP offers educational workshops, social community building groups, and support.
Needle Exchange- The Needle Exchange provides sterile syringes to injection drug users, reducing the reuse of needles and limiting the spread of HIV/AIDS in our community. It also provides HIV counseling and testing, Hepatitis A and B vaccinations, and education about preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC)- The Massachusetts Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program provides free food and nutrition information for women who are pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, and infants and children under the age of five. Tapestry Health runs seven WIC locations throughout Hampden and Hampshire counties.
Women’s Health Network- The Women’s Health Network (WHN) is a national and statewide program that provides free screening for breast and cervical cancer to uninsured AND underinsured women. The program’s goal is to detect breast and cervical cancers at their earliest, most treatable stages.
