ABOUT
Our specialized HIV/AIDS Services programs apply a harm reduction philosophy, a non-judgmental approach that views HIV as a greater threat than substance abuse, and prioritizes reducing the risk of transmission instead of focusing exclusively on abstinence from drugs. A user is not expected to embrace a goal of abstinence in order to receive services.
Our programs are run by professionals who have undergone extensive training in HIV, addiction, and personal safety issues, as well as in procedures for exposure to blood-borne pathogens and disposal of hazardous waste.
You may receive HIV counseling and testing at either one of our Health Services sites, or, if you meet certain criteria, through some of our HIV/AIDS programs. Click here for information about HIV counseling and testing. Please call (413) 586-2016 to learn more about programs under HIV/AIDS Services.
