Take Action!

Advocacy is a vital part of the work we do at Tapestry Health. It’s the way we, as an organization, and you, as a supporter of a cause, can make our voices heard.

There are a host of issues that affect our ability to deliver high-quality, affordable health care, ranging from the state and federal budget allocations of public health programs, to FDA decisions.

Conference Committee – Action Needed!
The FY 2010 budget conference committee has been appointed. It is critical that an alcohol tax is adopted to help pay for public health programs. Please contact your state representative and state senator NOW and ask him/her to contact the conference committee members with the following message:

“Please ask the conference committee members to adopt an alcohol tax in the final conference committee budget to fund critical public health programs, such as HIV/AIDS prevention and services!  Please request that the HIV/AIDS Line Item (4512-0103) is funded at $35.3 million as proposed by both the House and Senate budgets. Thank you for your consideration.”

It is most effective if you contact your state representative and state senator by phone, and talk to a budget aide. Leave your name, address, and contact information. You can follow up your call with an email.

 Federal Family Planning Funding

National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Associacion, NFPRHA, is working hard to increase funding for family planning in next years 2010 budget. We ask you to ensure that President Obama follows through with his commitment to family planning services by significantly increasing funding for Title X and requiring states to expand eligibility for Medicaid family planning services.
